Muppet Fetish came together as a band about a year ago, but drummer Justin Connors-Driftmier says the name was born about four years ago with a night of wine and watching “The Dark Crystal.”

The band includes Justin and his brother Aaron Connors-Driftmier on guitar, Mike Talbott on lead vocals and Gavin Hadley on bass. Describing the band can be as challenging as defining a Muppet, but Connors-Driftmier says it’s a chaotic mix of psychedelic surf music, folk and punk. Muppet influences include punk rock outfits such as Meat Puppets, Subhumans and Flipper.

The band hopes to record and album by the end of the year and will have a show in Bremerton in November.
