BANDS
The All Nighters
Tired from all that turkey you ate on Thanksgiving? Looking for a way to burn off the extra calories? Then rock out to The All Nighters at the Rogue on Friday. Originally a side project of the hardcore band Full Frontal Assault, The All-Nighters have evolved into an instrumental-surf band that fights the limitations of genre. Formed in Bellingham in 2004, lead and rhythm guitar are covered by brothers Jimmy and Jeff Kastelic, respectively; Bobby Lind plays bass; and drummer Gabe Taylor rounds out the quartet.
The band’s sophomore album “Dance ’til Dawn,” released in 2006, takes listeners on a dreamlike ride, transitioning between light-hearted tracks and more adventurous numbers. The album shows progression from the 2005 debut, “Drink the Night.” The band is also staying busy working on more material for its next album while maintaining a busy performance schedule. Influenced by movie soundtracks featuring strong instrumentals like that of “Pulp Fiction,” they strive to convey emotion through sound, and fans can feel it on the dance floor.
You don’t want to miss The All Nighters’ show: 10 p.m. Friday, The Rogue Hero, 1313 N. State St., $4 cover; Ladies of the Night opens. Check out their Web site at www.allnighters.us.
