The trip was everyone’s first time in Alaska. While on tour, the band had a little encoun-ter with muskeg, which is a type of soil much like a bog, which the guys found behind the trailer they were staying in, and the band decided to dig a hole in this muskeg and jump around in it, completely covering themselves with mud and earthy goo, Guest said, right before they had to play a show. “It was like walking on Jello,” Guest said.
But since the tour, the band has released an EP, “Live in Alaska,” and a full-length album, “To the Threads,” out in February, and celebrated with an amazing CD release show at the Wild Buffalo last month.
The band is Guest on drums and vocals, Mike Preuss on guitar and vocals and Richard Reeves on bass and vocals. The trio began playing together more than four years ago, Guest said, after they met at Western.
